El Pardo Birdwatching Tour
On this bird-watching tour of El Pardo, you'll hike the forest while admiring the most important species of the Iberian wildlife.
El Pardo Birdwatching Tour
At the agreed time, we'll meet at the Somontes parking lot, located on the road to El Pardo. Once we're all gathered, we'll hand out the binoculars and start hiking along the Manzanares River in search of the birds that live in this area of Madrid.
As we explore El Pardo, we'll discover the many great attractions of this Mediterranean forest, one of the most important in Madrid and one of the best-preserved in the whole of Europe. During this hike, we'll learn all about the unique vegetation in this area, such as the closed riparian forest, the open meadows, and the great variety of aquatic plants.
Accompanied by a guide specialized in bird studies, we'll observe closely the birds that live in El Pardo. We'll find water birds such as ducks, cormorants, geese and swans, and arboreal birds such as great spotted woodpeckers, blue tits, coal tits and nuthatches.
We'll venture into the pine and oak woodlands and admire species such as bee-eaters, one of the most colorful birds in Europe, as well as magpies, finches, goldfinches, and, of course, birds of prey such as vultures, eagles, and kites.
After a four-hour hike through El Pardo, we'll return to the starting point, ending this bird-watching activity.
