Our guide was great! Unfortunately cant remember his name (guy in his 30s speaking great English, german). He brought a folder where he showed many interesting pictures to support his stories. The best free walking tour we have had so far.

Madrid Free Walking Tour

We'll meet at the Orpheus door in the Plaza de la Provincia. Follow your guide through the historic streets of Madrid and find out about how it was established and delve into its most significant periods up until the present day. You’ll stroll through the medieval part of the city, El Madrid de los Austrias and El Madrid de los Borbones.

On the two hours of the Madrid free walking tour you’ll visit the most iconic streets, squares and landmarks, including the Segovia Viaduct, Plaza Mayor (the scene of spine chilling events during the Spanish Inquisition), the Royal Palace (the largest functioning Royal Palace in Europe) and its statue filled gardens in Plaza de Oriente. The tour also takes in Plaza de la Villa, one of Medieval Madrid's main centres, the still-functioning Opera house, the Mercado de San Miguel (a delightful wrought iron covered market) and much more.

While you wander through Madrid’s fascinating historic centre, you’ll be regaled with interesting anecdotes about the capital’s past, traditions and folklore that live on in the palaces, convents, boulevards and squares.
