Nile Exhibition Tour at the National Archaeological Museum
At the scheduled time, we will meet up in the lobby of the National Archaeological Museum in Madrid. From there head to one of the most outstanding spaces of the permanent collection: the Nile Room: Egypt and Nubia.
The great African river is the thread that binds together the Egyptian exhibition at the Archaeological Museum. Here you will learn all the amazing facts about the Nile and the essential part it plays in learning about the culture of Egypt and Nubia. You will also hear how the people who lived along the banks believed the river was sacred.
The Egyptians lived attached to a myriad of beliefs and gods. During the visit, we will discover what these were and delve into the religion of Ancient Egypt. You will see Sarcophagus tombs, mummies, votive relics and other important clues about the relationship between this civilization and the beyond.
In addition, we will reveal some ancient secrets about Egyptian pharaohs. From the moment they ascended the throne, their tombs were prepared and decorated to the smallest detail. On the tour of the Egyptian room, we will also learn how to identify their main symbols of power.
After an hour and a half visit, you will be able to explore the other rooms of the National Archaeological Museum on your own.
